چکیده
Land use change is a crucial driving factor in hydrological processes. Understanding its long-term dynamics essential for sustainable water resources management. This study sought to quantify and analyze land between 1985 2021 impacts on the hydrology of Sejnane watershed, northern Tunisia. Remote sensing SWAT model using SUFI-2 algorithm identify most sensitive parameters were used achieve this objective. maps developed 1985, 2001 2021. For last 37 years, watershed experienced slight decrease forest, scrubland forage crops, significant reduction grassland, conspicuous expansion olive trees vegetable crops. Given scarcity observed discharge data, was calibrated period 1997–2010 validated 2011–2019. Model performance good both calibration (NSE = 0.78, PBIAS −6.6 R2 0.85) validation 0.70, −29.2 0.81). Changes strongly affected balance components. Surface runoff percolation influenced, showing an increase by 15.5% 13.8%, respectively. The results revealed that construction dam, extension irrigated perimeters tree plantations major contributors changes hydrology.

Hydrological responses of a watershed to historical land use evolution and future land use scenarios under climate change conditions
Watershed runoff is closely related to land use but this influence is difficult to quantify. This study focused on the Chaudière River watershed (Québec, Canada) and had two objectives: (i) to quantify the influence of historical agricultural land use evolution on watershed runoff; and (ii) to assess the effect of future land use evolution scenarios under climate change conditions (CC). To achi...

The Ipswich watershed in northeastern Massachusetts, USA, is experiencing important land-use changes, which are contributing to severe environmental problems such as eutrophication, ground water depletion and loss of wildlife. The objective of this paper is to model deforestation between 1971, 1985 and 1991 in the watershed of the Ipswich River in Massachusetts, USA, where most of the forest lo...
متن کاملEvaluating Hydrological Response to Forecasted Land-use Change
It is currently possible to measure landscape change over large areas and determine trends in environmental condition using advanced space-based technologies accompanied by geospatial analyses of the remotely sensed data. There are numerous earth-observing satellite platforms for mapping and monitoring land cover and land-cover change; however, the traditional workhorses have been the Landsat M...
متن کاملInfluence of Land Use/land Cover Change on Saint Louis Bay Watershed Modeling
Saint Louis Bay Watershed is a coastal watershed located in southern Mississippi, which composes two basins: Jordan River Basin and Wolf River Basin. Two land use/land cover (LULC) datasets: the Geographic Information Retrieval and Analysis System (GIRAS) and the National Land Cover Data (NLCD) are applied on these two basins to simulate the hydrologic and water quality parameters by using the ...
متن کاملModeling Land-use and Land-cover Change
Models are used in a variety of fields, including land change science, to better understand the dynamics of systems, to develop hypotheses that can be tested empirically, and to make predictions and/or evaluate scenarios for use in assessment activities. Modeling is an important component of each of the three foci outlined in the science plan of the Land-use and -cover change (LUCC) project (Tu...
